NPR Starts Podcasting and GM Exec. Starts Blogging

by Tom Parish on April 21, 2008 · 0 comments  |  Audio and Video Podcasting

I’m so excited about this news from NPR.  I’m anxiously awaiting news of Terri Gross’s Fresh Aire and Ira Glass’s This American Life becoming available to podcasters. Heck, all the NPR programs.

Special mention here for anyone reading my blog to catch Dave Winer’s blog for news like this … and many other seemingly unconnected matters at times, yet interesting to know.  He’s the father of RSS and, along with Adam Curry, the heavy promoters of this new podcasting technology we’re seeing catch on so quickly.

I’ll tell you, this podcasting stuff may seem kinda weird and hard to understand, but once you try it out (meaning, carry a MP3 player around with specific audio programs and music you have selected), you’ll see …  You’ll see all sorts of possibilities emerge in your mind.  You get what you want WHEN you want it and, yes, you can skip through the ads during the show.

For those of us following the use of blogs in large corporations: a senior GM executive unleashes his blogging energy.  See the article from Steve Rubel’s blog.

2005 is going to be an interesting year, for sure.
