I’m going to move all my audios and Podcasts under a new moniker: Talking Portraits. That’s the name of the domain, but the site isn’t ready for prime time yet. There are some technical issues I want to sort out between Plone and RailRoad, which is a tool to help Plone handle lots of larger media files.
Talking Portraits will feature interviews about technology and people from around the world – the more varied, the better. Regardless of the technical nature of the topic, I want to get underneath the surface of each conversation and touch down into what awakens that person’s inner self – and on that rare and wonderful occasion hear their soul say what’s really true about themselves, others and life. I’m seeking the ordinary person that walks this earth with the extraordinary stories of their life, and I want to bring those stories to light. I’m not wanting to sound too metaphysical here; I just think we each have more to say that isn’t always voiced, as well as a desire to be heard. In Talking Portraits, I want to explore those stories with each person I speak with.
One other point to make here is music. I love music – all kinds – and for years I’ve created various types and forms of music in my studio. It hasn’t been my prime focus in life, but nevertheless it’s a passion. When I create a Podcast, I often use musice that I create.
I know that many others around the world create music, and recently I decided that I want to make their music more accessible. As I tap into people in general, I want to combine their original stories with the rich palette of original music available globally.
A trend setting company called www.Magnatune.com is bringing a more contemporary approach to distributing audio content on the Internet. They make it possible to use their artists’ music in Podcasts, and that’s what I’ll do now, in most cases. It’s like having a music store all to yourself, without the advertising and hype. Just people using technology to better themselves and bring happiness to others. I’m for that.
