Rod Amis, author for the IT Managers Journal, contacted me about an
article on our work with corporate blogging and podcasting at BMC Software – in particular the Talk.BMC.com site.
Here’s the the link:
”
Blogging and podcasting help BMC Software meet business goals“
Here’s the opening paragraph to pique your interest:
Do blogging and podcasting add value inside the enterprise and offer a
means of gaining customer loyalty and respect? The Web marketing team at
BMC Software in Houston thinks so now. BMC’s TalkBMC blog and podcast site first came
online in June 2005. Its nine bloggers generate one to three blog entries a
week. With the new content, which covers subtopics that marketing copy
never could, BMC is gaining greater search engine visibility and
significantly more traffic to its Web site. When a blog article or podcast
references a white paper, the paper gets a lot more attention than either
banner ads or email marketing produced.
Many thanks to Rob for taking the time to care and for his attention to
detail in writing this article.
I get an email or call monthly (sometimes weekly) from people wanting to
know more about the topic. I’m convinced corporate blogging and podcasting
will become more pervasive in 2006.
Feel free to contact me if you want to know more about the topic. I’m
looking at blogging more about it in 2006. I have eight clients from
2005 that have incorporated blogs into their business sites, and all are
seeing significant increases in traffic, and more qualified traffic at
that.
Tom
