Bloggers and Blog Readers Tend to be Wealthy, Young

As you might suspect, those who blog and those who read blogs are tech-savvy and enjoy being connected on the Web.  Correspondingly, you’d figure them to be young and have at least high-5 incomes that they like to spend. Well ok, maybe all who read and create blogs aren’t young but follow me on this.

Take a look at this studys:

Writer Juan Carlos Perez says in part:

Blog visitors are also more likely to shop online and to connect to the Internet using a broadband connection, according to the study “Behaviors of the Blogosphere,” conducted by comScore Networks. Unsurprisingly, blog visitors are also more active online, visiting almost twice as many Web pages as the average Internet user.

“ComScore found that blog visitors represent a demographically attractive advertising audience. Blog visitors are disproportionately likely to be affluent, young, and broadband-enabled,” reads the study, published this week.

Some Statistics

Blog visitors are 11 percent more likely than the average Internet user to have incomes of $75,000 or more, and are 30 percent more likely to live in households headed by someone between the ages of 18 and 34, the study found.

The study was based on comScore’s tracking of the online activity of more than 2 million Internet users.

As I read the article I was thinking Now this is what I want my clients to see. I had a sense this was the case, but wasn’t sure until I saw this study.  True, this may eventually change as blogging becomes more popular and widespread. Nevertheless, it’s extremely important now to be blogging if you want to be successful with your business online.

Personally speaking, my blog articles are what bring me new business opportunities. I could go on and on … just read the article and think about how that information could impact your traffic, sales, advertising and business opportunities from your website.
