The new, improved dbazine.com Plone site is officially online today, complete with blogs and podcasts and all the great technical articles they are known for.

Here is a summary of the site from their home page:

Please feel free to browse through our Oracle, Data Warehouse, SQL Server, General Interest, and DB2 Mainframe and UDB content. Currently, we are featuring articles by some of your favorite authors, including Craig Mullins, John Paul Cook, Hilary Cotter, Chris Foot, and Arup Nanda. Our site now provides a powerful search feature, RSS feeds, and podcasting. Join our community: Members can comment on blogs and on 10g articles, and will receive notifications about future promotions and giveaways. We hope you will become a part of this new, more interactive environment, and that our content will prove interesting and useful to you, as professional DBAs. (Please Note: If you previously received the DBAzine.com e-newsletter, you will need to join this site for complete access to all our new features.)

This project was a collaboration with Quintagroup.com to develop a Plone platform to support multiple sites for a number of online communities in addition to dbazine.com. Total traffic is expected to rise to more than 5,000 unique visitors a day.

Of special note: Jenny Meadows, who is my beloved editor for this blog, was involved in the conversion of about 130 of the technical articles into the new Plone site. It was tricky because many of the articles contained bits of software and long sections of code, along with pictures and diagrams, that required special formatting as part of the conversion and proofreading process.
