I’ll start by saying that I do love Gmail, but this limit issue is creating a kind of love-hate relationship with Google. If I didn’t like using Gmail so much, this would not be a problem.
Three months ago I sent an email to the Gmail support link, saying I’m running out of memory. No reply. I wrote again two months ago. No reply. Wrote again last month; no reply.
Now I’m out of memory. All I wanted to know was: What are my options? I guess the answer is “None.”
I expressed each time that I am open to paying - it’s worth it to me. Surely I’m not the only guy with this problem. What’s a person to do?
I’ve had my account for nearly a year. I get a lot of email – hey, I run an Internet business. I love the idea of quickly accessing all my past email from any browser. I love the idea of not having to always go into my email account and delete, delete, delete every few weeks to keep from overloading the account (like in Yahoo Mail or HotMail). But, now that’s exactly what I’m doing with Gmail so I can continue using it. I’m spending A LOT of time weeding through Gmail to delete messages I don’t think I’ll need.
Gmail will not let you send email if you’re over your 1-gigabyte limit. It starts complaining.
Now I’m complaining.
Sure, I have 50 free Gmail accounts I could create, but then I’d end up spreading my various email addresses all around to my business clients and friends. They would be confused as to which account to use. That’s not a solution. Even if I change the REPLY TO field, people still tend to grab the actual (new) email address and start using that one. Before long they are complaining about what email account to use, and I’m wondering where it’s all going.
So Google, COME ON, get with it! Either provide more Gmail account size or at least say in public: “No, you can’t have any more, even if you pay for it. That’s the limit for now. And we won’t be responding to your requests, either. Deal with it.”
