DBAzine.com - Special Event Blogging for IDUG2005
With more than 200 technical sessions spread out over five days, IDUG is the big event in the DB2 database world where attendees can learn and exchange experiences with other DB2 database administrators. It's the premier learning experience for those in the field. One of my clients, DBAzine.com, decided to try something new and different with their online community of DBAs by covering the event live.
Julian Stuhler is reporting onsite at the IDUG2005 Conference in Denver,
May 22-26. You can get to Julian's blog
from the DBAzine site, http://www.dbazine.com/.
This is an example of engaging with a community to generate more loyal
traffic. Julian has authored articles for DBAzine and visits the site often
to learn from other authors. He will be contributing his time to help this
online community learn more, especially those who cannot attend IDUG
this year. The DBAzine site benefits because of an increase in
traffic. The more timely and engaging your content is, the more
traffic you'll get and the greater the commitment the traffic has to
that community.
I'm planning to catch short audio Podcasts via phone from Julian at least
two or three times during IDUG to get updates on what he's seeing
there.
And I'll be watching the traffic to see what kind of rise occurs as a
result of this activity next week.
Stay tuned ...
Tom
