YouSendIt - Free File Transfer Tool - up to 1GB

YouSendIt is a free file transfer tool. One of the folks I interviewed for TalkingPortraits showed it to me. He transfered a large WAV file to me.

This isn't a new service. It's been around but I just thought it was worth mentioning to my readers. These days we're all wanting to transfer bigger and bigger files - mp3, video, large digital photographs, databases - and you just can't do that in email. Typical email is 5-10MB.

With YouSendIt you can transfer up to 1GB. It's fast too and it's free and it's secure.

Here is how it works:

1. Pick who you want to send a file to. It can be anyone with an email address. You can specify multiple email addresses by separating them with commas.

2. Select file to send. You can send music, photos, documents, or anything else. Your file will be stored by YouSendIt without ever filling up your recipient's mailbox.

3. Click on the Send It button. YouSendIt will automatically email your recipient a link to your file stored on their server.
